The city of Nizam's - Hyderabad

Hyderabad also known as the city of Nizam's or the city of pearls. The people of Hyderabad are called Hyderabadis. Hyderabad takes pride in its possession of magnificent antiquated structures, domical mosques, and monuments. The old city of Hyderabad today is a little crowded, tourist hot spot, and the heart of Hyderabadi Muslim culture but remains the symbolic heart of cosmopolitan Hyderabad along with HITECH City.

Hyderabad is rich in culture, color and very well known for it's food.

A glimpse of royalty at Nizam’s Museum could be seen through the Golden Throne. Where he sat only on his 25th anniversary for 3 hours. This Museum is also called Nizam's Golden Museum and people of Hyderabad take great pride in this. As it is the only museum which is still governed under the Last Nizam's Grand children.

Galleries here stock silver and gold artefacts and replicas of landmark

constructions which were presented by the royal families across the world and the Government authorities to honor him on his 25th Anniversary. This museum is situated at Purani Haveli, Pathar Gatti.

To know the glory of past, glimpse of the enigmatic way of living of the Nizam's, are still alive in the form of palaces like Chowmahalla Palace. The Chowmahalla Palace is one of the popular sightseeing places in Hyderabad. The literal meaning of this place is “Four Palaces” with “Chow” means four in Urdu and “Mahalat” which is the plural of

“Mahalel” meaning palaces.

The work of the ceiling of this palace seemed extremely mesmerizing to us. This palace also has the marble throne, the vehicles used by the Nizam.

Hyderbad is also known as the Charminar city. Charminar is the global icon of Hyderabad, It is the heart of the city. It is one of the most recognized structures of India. In the surroundings of the Charminar lies the local market. The old hyderabadi culture is still alive, there are bakeries, copper vessel shops, fruit stalls and much more.

The fifth ruler of the Qutub Shahi dynasty, Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, built the Charminar. It is one of the tourist attractions in Hyderabad. It is where Many local festivals are celebrated in Charminar area like Ramzaan.

The English name is a translation and combination of the Urdu words Char and Minar or meenar, translating to "Four Pillars". The architecture of the Charminar seemed extremely attractive to our vision.

The current caretaker of the structure mentioned that there are various theories regarding the purpose for which Charminar was constructed. However, it is widely accepted that Charminar was built at the center of the city, to commemorate the eradication of Cholera.

The Hyderabad trip is completely incomplete if you miss visiting Charminar.

The Salar Jung Museum is an art museum which was earlier considered as one of the palaces of Nizam. It has a collection of sculptures, paintings, carvings, textiles, manuscripts, ceramics, metallic artefacts, carpets, clocks, and furniture from Japan, China, Burma, Nepal, India, Persia, Egypt, Europe, and North America. The museum's collection was sourced from the property of the Salar Jung family. This museum is now undertaken by the Government authorities.

The musical clock Salar Jung bought from Cook and Kelvey of England. Every hour, a timekeeper emerges from the upper deck of the clock to strike a gong as many times as it is the hours of the day. The clock is an antique and attractive.

What attracted our eyes the most apart from the clock were the manuscripts, the coins gallery and much more. The museum is extremly attractive and you need to have time in your hand to visit this place as its "HUGE".
